Baron Wolman was Rolling Stone’s first staff photographer and from 1967 through the early seventies his pictures appeared in nearly every issue. While working there he had virtually unlimited access to the stars of the day, photographing Janis Joplin, The Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan and Jim Morrison among others. After leaving Rolling Stone, Wolman started a countercultural magazine called Rags which was acknowledged as a journalistic success. Baron Wolman: Every Picture Tells A Story, the Rolling Stone Years was published in 2011. The book talks about Wolman’s career from the beginnings of Rolling Stone and tells the story behind his photographs.
