The Beverly Hills Hotel, the legendary pink hideaway on Sunset Boulevard was invaded by Ziggy Stardust in 1972. Bowie was in town to play the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium for the US Ziggy Stardust tour. Captured here by Mick Rock, Bowie shows off his new jacket that had been flown in from New York for ‘The Jean Genie’ video.
