Art by Neil Zlozower

Neil Zlozower was born and raised in Los Angeles. He first picked up the camera at age 14, when he ventured into a pawn shop and bought a Honeywell Pentax with no light meter and a Vivitar 135 lens with a stripped focusing ring - which meant he had to step forward and backward to focus!

His first great shot was in November, 1969 at age 14 - The Rolling Stones at the Forum. Next was The Who in 1970 outdoors at Anaheim Stadium; with Tri X film and plenty of light, he was able to shoot stop-action. One of his best shots was at age 18 at San Francisco’s Winterland in 1972 of Mick Jagger onstage with a terrorized look on his face.

With disco in full swing, Neil sought-out real rock & roll, trying to find bands before they were known. After hearing Eddie Van Halen playing "Running with the Devil" on the radio, he found the fresh new rock & roll he was looking for. He and the band worked together for many years. In fact, his favorite cover shot is of David Lee Roth on Spin magazine.

His work with other bands includes the "Blood Sessions" with Motley Crue, and up to today with Coldplay and Velvet Revolver. If you look at any rock magazine from the past 35 years, you are sure to see a photo credit by Neil Zlozower. His world premiere photo exhibit was hosted by Mr Musichead Gallery in 2005.
