Art by EMEK

Emek has been referred to as “The Thinking Man’s Poster Artist” and has made his mark creating finely crafted posters advertising live concerts around the world.

Emek’s style thrives on attention to detail, coupled with layers of meaning in the artwork. His infusion of socio-political commentary into pop culture imagery has made his work instantly recognizable in the field. His work is still hand-drawn in the tradition of the classic psychedelic posters from the 1960s and early punk flyers of the 1980s.

Emek’s poster-making career accelerated in the 1990s as he created imagery for many top “alternative rock” acts from Europe and North America. Over the last decade, Emek’s work has been shown in galleries across the United States, Berlin, London and Tokyo. He has been featured in dozens of magazines and several books and was interviewed on CNN. Emek has also been a regular artist for WiReD magazine and done illustrations for Rolling Stone, LA Weekly, Juxtapoz magazine, and is featured in “Art of Modern Rock” and a new college textbook on the social history of Rock and Roll. He has won many design awards.
