Michelle Broussard is from Chicago where she studied fine art and illustration.
After graduating, she worked as an illustrator for various clients such as the A~lister magazine, Playboy, and the Museum Company. Shortly after, she moved to New York to study fashion design at the Fashion Institute of Technology. The strong combination of fine art and fashion gave her a head start in the industry where she worked for 9 years beginning at Donna Karan.
Michelle has recently relocated to the Los Angeles area where she has begun focusing on her painting once again. She will also be launching a clothing label called POMPOUS that will combine her artwork and original designs.
‘My creative process usually includes music that inspires me or sets my mood. The genre isn’t relevant...my mood dictates! I am instinctively attracted to simple bold statements...let the piece speak for itself…with an artistic twist, something simple takes on new meaning and it’s how you look at it…similar to Andy Warhol's viewpoint: uncomplicated, light and fun.’
