Born in Calabasas, California in 1980, Arnaud Azoulay is first generation in America. His father Guillaume was born in Morocco, and his mother Charmaine in Wales. Due to the fact that his father Guillaume Azoulay is a world renowned artist, he was exposed to culture and art from a very early age.
His family moved to Los Angeles when he began high school at age thirteen. It was during his freshman year, that he felt drawn to the Arts. He studied theatre, performed a few stage productions and some screen acting.
While the theatrical arts were a study focus of his, Arnaud spent all other class time drawing on anything and everything that he could get his hands on. Intensely creating odd shapes and fantasy type characters, he was laboring over each curve of his work, like a mad perfectionist.
His inspiration has always been driven by his passion for music, from the lightest classical to the heaviest metal, from jazz to opera. By age fourteen, Arnaud was a self taught guitarist and surrounded by musicians. It was then that he first displayed his art, making posters for concerts at the legendary Roxy and Whisky on Sunset Blvd.
In 2002, he decided to move to New York City and fell in love with the energy. Using his art to survive, he was creating his first original pieces for private clients and free lance advertisements.
Four years later, he was ready to return to Los Angeles to further pursue his career. His first fine art edition musician portrait prints are to be released exclusively through Mr Musichead Gallery.
